I like to be able to see these all the time. the other items on screen are water temp, battery voltage, distance traveled and time. You assumed correct, picture taken at home hence no depth and the location of the black marker. Eg, The map is not showing any channel markers. Was there any difference when you zoomed in. I assume you have gone into the CHART menu & changed from the default Lowrance to Navionics? #Lowrance navionics gold card how to#Not knowing how to reverse, went into the menu, selected "Back to Default" settings, then started over again. When I got my unit, played around with settings to a point I stuffed up a No. Perhaps this photo was taken when you were at home, hence it's position. I'm not an expert & perhaps others more knowlegable than I may comment but it appears some how you have managed to overlay the STEER screen with the CHART screen.Īlso, the black triangle under the "30" shows the actual boat position & as such should be in the water area. You have a few things on the screen, other than the pink line, that I have not seen before. The river is only 50 to 100m wide in that area and the tracks are a similar distance on shore from mid river. The pink line is my track down the river and as I do not have a hovercraft, if that was my true route, I would have spent a lot of time beached. Thought the best way to show you is with a photo. I'll try a couple of the suggestions next time I drag it out. So the default "Lowrance" setting is all I got! No, the Elite 4 doesn't have a card standard. If it does not look like the photo then suspect there will be more expenditure. #Lowrance navionics gold card manual#Move the grid lines (in the manual these are refered to as the "curser") with the arrow buttons to the coast or your normal fishing spot. When at home the screen will be a light brown colour which depics land. If it is fitted the screen should look like this when the horizantle & vertical grid lines are moved to a coastal position or when your on the water. If the Gold card is fitted select "Navionics" On the drop down screen, Enter. The first thing to determin is what, if any, card came with your DSI 4.Ĭhart, Menu, select Chart Data. The Navionics XL9 Gold card was supplied & included in the price of the Elite 5 unit. I have the Elite 5 Combo which I understand is basically the same as the 4 but with larger screen. It's not necessary to be on the water to use the Chart so you can play around with it at home provided the boat is outside so the GPS can pick up the satelites. Then, if it still is no good I guess I'll be spending more money!! I'll try the suggestion from Leo next time I'm out, and try to learn my way around the menus first. Maybe I am doing something wrong.I wondered if I'd need a card to get decent results. I'll seek some answers from Navico on these issues. #Lowrance navionics gold card android#Lowrance firmware appears to treat the 2 chart levels as separate rather than an additional overlay the way the Android app does. Strangely, you get the community edits in "Navionics" charts and not on "Navionics Fish 'N Chips". So basically you need to swap back to "Navionics" to use the chart effectively when viewing a larger area and swap to "Navionics Fish 'N Chips" to zoom in. No community edits on any zoom level either. 26 foot contours and a few wreck markers. This detail only is visible on the lower zooms, which would be fine, but the higher zooms have almost no info on them. ![]() With the Navionics+ card in the 7 HDI, you need to select "Navionics Fish 'N Chip" rather than "Navionics" in the chart selection to get the finer contour detail. What I expected was basically what I get on my Android app - zoom in and you get finer contour lines from "Sonar Charts" and communitiy edits (where people upload hot fishing places that they want you to go and so leave alone their secret places.) Zoom out and you get the normal Navionics detail. The result - well a little disappointing really. #Lowrance navionics gold card Pc#This could be a local PC config thing but I tried it on both mine.ģ. Sort of counter intuitive to normal USB practice. When it says "Remove your card", it means remove the micro SD card from the adapter - not remove the whole shebang (like in the picture). #Lowrance navionics gold card upgrade#Use the USB adapter included with the upgrade card. Do not use the SD card slot in your PC even though the pictures show this. So for $175 retail you buy a Navionics+ upgrade card which you download the maps onto over the Interweb using the current Gold card as validation. You can use your bundled Gold card - though I was concerned there was some fine print somewhere. Here's my experiences - hope it helps - any other input welcome.ġ. Recently took the plunge and upgraded to Navionics+ using the bundled Gold card I got with the sounder.
